A minor Scale diagrams (natural, harmonic, and melodic minor scales)

This shows the standard notation, note names, and tab for the natural, harmonic, and melodic A minor scale for guitar.

The notes in the Am natural scale are A, B,C,D,E,F,G
The notes in the Am harmonic minor scale are A, B,C,D,E,F,G#
The notes in the Am melodic minor scale are A, B,C,D,E,F#,G# while ascending the scale.
The notes in the Am melodic minor scale are A, B,C,D,E,F,G while descending the scale.

You should note the Harmonic minor has a sharpened 7th tone (G#), and the melodic minor has a sharpened 6th (F#) and 7th (G#) ascending only. The descending melodic minor is the same as the natural minor. Go figure.
